Product Description

Thermal and Acoustic Insulation - Glasswool Ceiling SupaBattsB&B Insulations Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts are a resilient and compressible insulation manufactured from the controlled felting of glasswool bonded with a thermosetting resin. The batts provide both thermal and acoustic insulation while also being soft and easy to install in the home. Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts will not burn.

Applications

Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts have been developed to provide efficient and cost effective insulation to the home owner. They are designed to reduce energy costs by keeping heat out during summer and heat in during winter.

Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts are supplied in two conventional widths to suit standard housing construction: 430mm width for joists spaced at 450mm centres, as well as 580rnm width for joists spaced at 600mm centres. Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts are installed by laying them on top of the ceiling in between the ceiling joists. They are also suitable for installation under floors for added energy savings.

Standard Sizes and Packaging

Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts are packed in strong, resistant & sealed polythene clear plastic bags, with inserted labels for easy identification. The standard sizes and R-values are listed below.

Fire Resistance

When tested in accordance with AS/NZS 1530.3:1999, Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts have the following Early Fire Hazard Indices:

Ignitability 0 Heat Evolved 0
Spread of Flame 0 Smoke Developed 0

Corrosion Resistance

Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts are faintly alkaline and incapable of corroding steel. To maintain this condition, protection must be provided against contamination from external sources. When tested in accordance with BS 3958: Part 5-1969, Glasswool Ceiling SupaBatts have a pH of 7.5-8.0.
